Handwoven rugs are made on a loom by interlacing horizontal (weft) and vertical (warp) threads together giving the rug strength and durability. The rugs made using this technique are called flatweave rugs, dhurrie, or kilim rugs. Handwoven rugs typically have a flat surface and are ideal for high traffic areas.
